rebuild-portage-caches

Description

The rebuild-portage-caches utility, usually located at /usr/bin/rebuild-portage-caches, is a helper application used by the update-buildspaces application to maintain the portage cache files in a build-space. If the app-portage/eix package is installed then the eix index in the build-space will also be updated using the eix-update application.

Use

As mentioned above the rebuild-portage-caches utility is a helper application used by the update-buildspaces application and is therefore not usually invoked by users directly. When an update to the testing repository is performed using the sync-repositories utility on the build-server it will automatically invoke the rebuild-portage-caches utility on each of the build-spaces as shown below.
